Have You Owned A Diesel Between

2008 - 2019 ?

What Is This About ?

Some major car manufacturers have been accused of cheating emissions tests and laws between 2009 and 2019.

Potentially millions of diesel vehicles are affected by the ‘Dieselgate’ scandal.

In many cases it is alleged that they were producing emissions levels that significantly exceeded UK laws put in place to protect the public and the environment.

We offer every driver of a diesel vehicle the opportunity to explore if their vehicle may be affected and make a claim for compensation.

Some car manufacturers have already paid out billions around the world.

About Emission Clams

Volkswagen

On May 28, 1937, the government of Germany formed a new state-owned automobile company, then known as Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH. Today known as Volkswagen Group.

Mercedes

The company's origins come from Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft's 1901 Mercedes and Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, which is widely regarded as the first internal combustion engine in a self-propelled automobile.

What Is A Cheat Device ?

A ‘cheat device’ or ‘defeat device’ is any element of design, software or hardware in a car which detects different vehicle conditions (e.g. temperature, vehicle speed, engine speed etc) and adjusts or disables the car’s emission control system. The practical effect of a defeat device is that it can detect when it is in a regulatory test environment and tell the engine it needs to reduce the emissions it is producing in order to pass that test.

When the car is outside of a test environment in real-world driving conditions, it recognises that and the vehicle pumps out unlawful levels of NOx and other pollutants without the driver realising.

The excessive harmful substances pumped into the atmosphere have negative consequences for the environment and are known to cause thousands of premature deaths a year in the UK.
